What's up, guys? Cole from Angling Sports here. Ice fishing season has officially kicked off, finally. It's been a few years since we've had it in Southwestern Ontario.
Long point went off last weekend. Simcoe has been going off. Perch fishing has been excellent.
So we're gonna do top 3 perch lures, staff picks. Number 1 is going to be the McGathy's Hooks Drain Pipe. Reason we like the drain pipe, it's twice as thick as a regular slab grabber, so the fall rate's a lot better on it. You can get down to them quicker, keep the school fired up. Definitely put a drain pipe in your arsenal.
Next most popular is going to be another flutter type spoon. It's the VMC Tinglers. They replaced the old Blue Fox Tinglers. These things have a great fall rate, good flash, good flutter to them. Another great spoon to catch jumbos with.
The final one, if you run into any dirty water situations or you're not catching them on a flutter spoon, what we like to throw is the little Ultra Light Rippin' Raps. Got loud BB rattles in them. Calls fish from a long way, especially if you get on, like, Rondeau Bay or something and get into some dirty water. These things tend to call them in and work really well.
